She was raised on her family’s dairy farm and learned from her animal friends that power and influence are not necessarily related to size or strength.
Because the vast majority of the dog-owning families leave dog responsibilities to women, literally thousands of women have come to Camilla Gray-Nelson over the years – feeling powerless, frustrated and defeated. They assumed dog training requires either masculine strength and bravado (which women do not possess) or endless cookies and treats (which they are reluctant to use or have found didn’t solve troublesome issues).

Camilla owns and operates Dairydell Doggie Dude Ranch and Training Center in Petaluma, California. With a science degree and graduate school in business and public administration, she converted the old family farm from cows to canines and built the fastest growing dog training facility in northern California.
Camilla’s positive energy and her unexpected and successful approach to dog training have made her a sought-after speaker, a favorite radio guest across the country, and an engaging television personality. When she is not training or writing about dogs, Camillia is with her husband, Kurt, their three dogs and two cats or riding one of her horses on their Dairydell ranch in beautiful Sonoma county wine country.
